I couldnt find a Uconnect specific section, but this is driving me mad so I wanted to shout about it.

my new fiat tipo comes with uconnect live 5" touch radio. from new (first day I had it) I downloaded the uconnect live app on my phone and installed it, when asked to sign up to uconnect services it gave me the option to sign in with a social media account , or create a new account. So I picked my facebook account. this worked great I thought, the app was giving me live updates on stuff like millage and even a gimicky little 'find my car' thingie.

Ive come to realise though that uconnect live services are not working on my account, the the app, the tomtom menu constantly told me "once activated, uconnect live can update tom tom..etc" also my eco drive button on the app did nothing.

looking more into this it seems that my facebook account acting as a uconnect sign is does not give me uconnect live status. So I attempted to create a new account with a different email address, me thinking I could just sign in with this instead.

cut a long story short - my car is now associated with my facebook uconnect account, there doesnt seem to be options to change the email address, or connect this account to uconnect live, if I try and sign in with the different account it says I can add this new account as a friend from the owners account (which its now done) but that didnt work either. Ive now totally ballsed this up by trying to delete the original uconnect account - but all this has done has locked me out of using the app alltogether as It still tells me the car is associated with another account, yet the account in question is disabled. :(

It confuses me as to what happens when someone sells a uconnect enabled car - who and how does the new owner use the uconnect services of the car ???
 
not that anyone cares. but I had to create a call for fiat customer support to disassociate my account with my car from an account side.

they seem to have done this as I can now connect with a new account - still getting odd things happening in the app, but Im starting to think its just a ****ty app.

Fiat customer service is terrible to get intouch with - there seems to be this obsession in phoning them up, but you have to phone Italy on some weird premium number - most of the phones Ive tried are barred from calling this.

you can fill out the online form thing - but you dont get confirmations that you even submitted the form, let alone any progress updates. Eventually (after about 2 days of wandering) some uk call centre phones you, they really seem determined NOT to use email. which was frustrating as the guy that called me was trying to get me to email a document to them by reading the email address (wrongly), I had 2 or 3 re-submissions of an online form in order to finally get the right email address, and thats only after I resorted to the online chat feature - at least you can get through to someone in text format.

Ive just online chatted again and she said she would have to get someone to ring me ... my heart sank.

oh - they also send text messages to you asking you to ring their weirdo foreign number .... that I cant get to. lol :bang:

I've just activated uconnect acc for my wife's new fiat 500 and it seems everything works fine using iphone. First I created account. After that, when phone and car radio connected, I selected APPS button on radio and then uconnect live app, which started upgrading uconnect live app (internet connection required). I've also enabled and changed ecodrive settings from USB to Cloud upload. Then I went for two short rides and all information available were displayed on the phone, though it seems that ecodrive info takes about 5min before they are shown in phone app.

I've also created uconnect acc for myself and added myself as a friend on my wife's uconnect acc. Then i've confirmed my wife's invitation and installed uconnect app on my android phone. In order uconnect phone app to show car information, it needed to connect with a car. I'm not sure how this works but I'm assuming that I'll only be able to see stats from drives when my phone will be connected to car (one phone at a time can be connected to car).

Try to login from computer with e-mail used for facebook. If you get invalid password (which you probably will) , just select Forgot your password? and you should receive reset password mail. After setting new password, first try to login from computer, after that try to logout from phone and login with new password.
 
Fiat are dealing with it now... Well someone from Italy keeps ringing me... My account is correct, it's a uconnect live account and I've confirmed it and it connects to the car via the app and does show car stats like total miles ect , and the find my car thing usually works, still having problems on the app with thinking it's got a uconnect live connection, and the tomtom services section of the app has never worked, even though it works on the car fine. I'm starting to think it's just a crappy app, they probably put all the testing into ios, and just banged out any old crap for android.

Sorry, don't understand bold part. Does the app have problem only with tomtom or with tomtom and something else?


I can't confirm for tomtom since wife's fiat 500 doesn't have navigation :)
 
In the phone app, if you click the burger settings thing and click uconnect live status, it always says "sorry couldn't connect to uconnect live at the moment" this is when I'm signed in and connected to the car fine. In the phone app services section, the ecodrive tab does nothing... Didn't even progress to another screen. Previously i know this has been working as the ecodrive readings are filtering through to the website if i login on a computer. The tomtom services tab on the phone app just so shows some generic splash screen saying "once activated uconnect live push to tom tom to do blah blah blah" as if the so thinks I'm not connected to uconnect live ?
 
Looks like your uconnect service isn't active.

This is what my wife gets on her phone when selecting uconnect live status:

On computer login, under preferences tab -> under accounts , there is UCONNECT LIVE STATUS ?

That's the whole problem, it is active, fiat have even confirmed it as such as it says it's active when i login using a computer... It's just the app thinks I'm not. Anyone using android that can confirm they don't get this...

Interesting. I logged in on my android phone with wife's account and uconnect live status is displayed normally. If your status is active on computer login, this is what i would try to do:
- check and if necessary upgrade android version
- remove uconnect app, install it again and login with computer pass
- try it on other phone

Wich android version do you have?
 
Latest android ...7 ? Nougart .. on a galaxy s7edge

I've uninstalled/reinstalled this app several times, even deleted any remaining folders and files incase it's remembering something. The account is active with uconnect live. It's just the app that thinks it's not.

I guess you've done everything you can to fix problem on your phone . Still it would be interesting to know how it works on other phone(s) ?

I have Galaxy s6 edge, android 6.
 
Yeah, thanks for your help so far.. the Italian woman that phoned me was making a note of phone model and such. All i can think is that there's some weird incompatability with my phone or android version.
 
Update... Ive given up. The Italian woman phoned back claiming it sounded like it was all working exactly as it meant to. Apparently the tomtom option in the app is merely an advert for the service, the ecodrive button does nothing in the app , and the uconnect live status will only work when you are connected to the car. (It still doesn't by the way) it was difficult enough trying to argue my point as stuff was getting lost in translation so eventually i just gave up
 
I have the exact same problem as you described with my Fiat 500x and an iPhone 6s. It's obvious this is not working correctly and when one clicks the Live button in the car, it should connect to the phone app. I guess you gave up and never found a solution?

Hello everybody. I have problems regarding Panda Uconnect app. I always get error message "unable to connect" on MY:CAR button and on RADIO button. Does any one face the same problem?
