I've had a quick search around the stickies but can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere. Not sure whether it's my phone or the Blue&Me system!

I have a 2016 500C Lounge and an iPhone 5S. The phone is paired with the car so I can make calls and play music happily, however there are a couple of questions I have...

- how do I get blue & me to read my texts?
-when plugged in via the Aux cable, why can't I fast forward Spotify/Deezer using the controls on the steering wheel/ touchscreen? As you can imagine, it's quite annoying having to fast forward on the phone especially while driving!

Unfortunately it's a mixture of both, blue and me and iPhone 5 do not like working together!

You can usually get all the phone functions to work except text, and I too cannot get the controls to work on most apps like you.

Can't think of a workaround as you have discovered. Hopefully somebody may know otherwise.

i'm having the same issue with mine! I have an iPhone 6 and my steering controls won't work for music either!

I've taken it to the garage today and 2 phones which did not have the latest iPhone software on worked fine, but mine is fully updated and didn't work!
 
You will never get the steering controls to control a phone using the Aux socket.
iPhones can play audio over the USB port and the steering controls usually work fine for me when doing that.
Unfortunately I'm on an Android so can't use the USB audio function so can't control it from the wheel. I just make sure my playlists have songs i'm not gonna skip.
