Just bought a 10 plate Punto Evo 1.4GP with predisposition for TomTom via the custom dashboard port. Any tips on where best to source one of these from? Seem hideously expensive on eBay.

Cheers.

Do you think so? This one is £199, brand new, including p&p.

18months ago they were regularly on sale at up to £300, new, and I thought I got a good price at £199 at the time.

Yep, compared to the base 1000 on which they are built, they're expensive- especially as you have to buy map and LIVE updates after a year.

I personally would not buy another, the functionality isn't so great to warrant the extra cost, especially without free updates, but I've got mine now, and I wait for TomTom offers eg 18months subscriptions for the cost of 12months. It's the old thing- you want all the gizmos they build in,so pay over the odds...........

Suppose 199 isn't so bad for wide-screen convenience, guess it just a lot by comparison. Cheers for the link, will give it some thought.

Just a thought- not wishing to confuse you, and I've no idea of your level of knowledge re the confusing FIAT Blue&Me system--but, as your car is 2010, do you need a B&M TomTom or a B&M TomTom2? I'm unsure of the cross-compatibility of the systems (mine is 2nd generation) but you can find info how to verify yours here on P5 "How can I tell which generation of B&M is on my car".

Here would suggest that B&M TomTom (rather than B&M TomTom2) was available 2010-2011

The earlier B&M TomTom (not TomTom2) satnav units are generally a lot cheaper. Good luck

Is it possible to stick a regular Tom Tom GO onto the Blue & Me prong ?

Think that you can only fit an old style 1000 unit in the holder as that is what it is designed for.

I have the proper one for the job, (B&M tomtom2), very useful for operating the phone from, never bother using the steering wheel controls for the actual sat nav functions and no point in using the Eco function ( suggesting when to change gear) as the my qubo has the durologic gearbox anyway.

I also have got a spare 1000 series holder and cables so that I can use it in my firms car as it has tomtom live on it and that has been really useful!

Food for thought

( I brought the tomtom from a forum member off of here, so didn't pay full price for it )

Hi newbie and first post.
Just ordered a TomTom 1000 which I believe fits the tomtom cradle for the 68r port. The Glynn Hopkins accessories site has 2 options, tomtom 1 and tomtom 2. Any idea which cradle I need for the 1000.
Thanks
