Can I get the car to read out my text message from my phone, if yes how do I set it up.

Depends on the phone, there is a list somewhere but don't know where it is. I do know it doesn't work with the Sony Xperia.

i think most phones don't work with this function which makes you wonder why fiat bothered along with why on earth they didn't include A2DP either. if you have an android phone you can use an app called 'SMS,my car and me' and in its settings audio settings forwarding tick the box for 'send output to bluetooth headset' and also tick 'mute media players' (this stops any music from the device whilst message is read). This will read text messages as they arrive but you will still have no facility to ask for a message to be read via the car controls but anything is better than nothing! you can set the app to only work when connected to specific bluetooth devices so you don't even need to switch it on and off.
