I have flashing mileage and none of my blue and me works including my usb port

Help

Disconnect the car battery's negative terminal and re-connect it after about 5 minutes. This resets Blue&Me. It helped me recently when my steering wheel buttons had stopped working.

Hi there!
I'm having a similar problem in my 500c diesel edition - I'm new to this forum as I only purchased my baby 3 days ago and I know this question has been asked a million and 1 times but I cannot solve my problem.

Blue and me USB port was working fine the day I got the car, automatically playing music/charging phone - but now it doesn't recognise my phone or any USB when plugged in

Read the posts about disconnecting battery etc to reset it. Got fiat to do that for me and all worked again. Half an hour later when turning car off and on - no USB or phone recognised again.

Please help!

that could be the phone you are using. My USB works fine if I use a USB stick or my iPod. But if I plug in my HTC One M8 sometimes it will charge, sometimes it will play music, but more often than not nothing works and it breaks the USB port.

Reseting it is a 10 second (and incredibly easy) job and I have just accepted that Blue&Me does not play nicely with my phone over USB.

It doesn't work with my phone, my iPod, my iPad, dads phone, normal usb, nothing ! :( How do you reset it? The battery disconnect? Or is there another way.

Thanks!

if you pop the bonnet on the negative terminal of the battery is a black plastic clip with a red button. press the red button and that cable comes off. Leave it 10 seconds (some people say 5 minutes, some say 30 minutes, but 10 seconds worked for me) then put it back. Problem gone.

You could also try (once you reset your USB port) updating the Blue&Me firmware. You need a USB stick but it is quite straight forward to do. Go to http://www.blueandme.net/blueandme/index.aspx/index.aspx?brand=fga&lang=en#/support/download/ click the i and then follow the instructions. it can take a little while to update the firmware and there are a couple of gotchas.

you have to download some software to the stick that you plug into the car. When you do this you get an audio prompt to say upgrading and then one to say complete and to remove the stick. This part of the update is so the website knows what is fitted to your car so it can offer you the right firmware to download.

You then plug the firmware into the car. this time there are no audio prompts, just display on the the dash saying upgrading - installing - complete. This would be fine unless you open a door. As then the car tells you that the door is open and overrides what the update is displaying. Best to just sit and watch the screen for it saying complete. Took about 5 minutes on my car.

Battery has been disconnected and reset a few times. Nothing changes, fiat updated my software with no troubles and no faults came up on computer system. But still no power from blue & me USB socket :(
