Hi there folks, new here so hoping you can help!

I have a 1.9 multijet 07 Grande Punto and on Wednesday just had the alternator changed but since then the Media PLayer has been working infrequently with it changing to AUX subsequently losing steering controls, voice controls and showing flashing mileage. This seems to last for around 5-10 minutes until a restart of the car has it back to normal functioning.
Strangely this seems to occur more often then not at night,
Im in dire help of what this cause could be and whether a simple battery disconnect could solve it; The car wasn't taken to a fiat dealership and am concerned that perhaps that during the alternator change the mechanics could have tampered with any wiring? Or perhaps the climate control wiring is effective?
I really am at odds with this tedious problem and would like some advise on potential quick fixes as an alternative to taking it back to the same garage (who may not know what they are doing) or being extorted by a fiat dealership,

Hope you can help!! Thanks!

Hey I have a similar problem..flashing milage, only half steering controls and no B&M. Did you get it fixed?

Re: BLUE & ME - Infrequent cutting out - no steering controls and flashing mileage!

I'd take it back and get them to check the wiring.. shouldn't cost you anything if they caused the problem.

Flashing Odometer means one of the computers isn't responding normally (I think)..
I think theres a procedure called Proxy Alignment which can sort it out.. but that needs a diagnostic tool to do it. (someone can probably tell you a lot more about that than me)

Pulling the battery shouldn't cause a problem (at least it doesn't on a Bravo) and has been known to fix all manner of B&M problems..

I used to get the flashing odometer once in a while.. but it didn't seem to affect anything in my case so I just used to turn it off and on again.. It's got MS software in it.. probably just needs a reboot. It's been fixed since the last service touch wood.

Hi Guys...I read on here that if the BM unit behind the dash wash disconnected (say changing the Head Unit) that this would cause the mileage to flash persistently.

Could be a "tug" on the wire has caused a slack (and intermittent) connection?
Good Luck
