Hi all,
I've got a 10 plate 500 and had it from new - never had any problems with the blue and me before but over the past few weeks I've noticed that my iPod (classic 160GB) has stopped being recognised by the car.
It used to light up when plugged in (with a iPod USB cable connected to the dongle thing), and then go into a playing mode and the car would play the music; it had a phase of not lighting up all or playing music all together, and after trying a different iPod cable to the dongle it lit up again but never went to the charging mode and the car never recognised it to play music.
I've tried to update the blue and me to 5.6 but to no luck - I downloaded the update in both manual and assited mode, put it onto a blank USB stick, plugged it straight into the cars USB socket and turned the key to MAR-ON - the only thing that happens is my USB starts flashing - but there is no wording that appears saying that it is updating, and the womans voice doesn't come on saying anything either...
Can anyone offer any help? I only want my iPod to play through my car and I'm not even that bothered if I can achieve that with or without updating the blue & me because my phone works fine with it on the 5.5 version!!

PS I have considered it may be the blue & me dongle that has bust as it has been going for two years now... but I'm hoping it's not due to the price of these on the web!
