· Hi all - I feel I have to share my experience with the brand new Fiat Blue & Me TOMTOM 2 Live which just went for sale on the UK Fiat Accessories site last week.
This unit looked great the ad states works with the 68R option which my 59 plate 500 has (the slot on the dash board). The unit arrived promptly, unpacked and set up ready to go - After 50 attempts, calls to my local dealership and support requests to Tom Tom I cannot get this unit to pair with my 500. I have raised the following return request to FIAT Accessories "The unit I have just purchased based on the statement on your web site does not as stated work with my 500. The unit fails to pair, I have loaded new software 5,5 as suggested by my dealership and raised service calls with TomTom direct, I have attempted to pair 41 times and followed all advice given by TOMTOM.

There are two possible issues, the TomTom is at fault, which I doubt as it works in all ways apart from pairing with my 500 or the unit is being misold as in fact it does not work with all Fiat with 68R docking ports. I suggest this issue is raised as a matter of urgency; you are going to have a lot of negative feedback on the product review from unhappy purchasers. Please advise how you intend to proceed."
Anyone else purchased one?

Hi, sorry to hear about all the problems you are having with the BLUE&ME TomTom 2 Live. I only had the previous version of this unit and I had no problem with the pairing so all I can suggest is that you confirm with Fiat that you definitely have the 68R version as although your car is registered after September 2010 Fiat state that it has to be manufactured after that date. If this was the case (you will need to check the date of manufacture to be certain) it will only have the 54K version which allows the cradle to dock and supply power but it will not allow pairing.

Have you checked in the SatNav section to see if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Hi thks - I did notice that on the Fiat Accessories site when the Tom Tom 1 was being sold that it did mention would only work with cars post a certain production date, hence I did'nt purchase a replacment for the very poor Blue & me Map. When I noticed the new Tom Tom 2 live the add states for cars with the 68R option, I presumed Tom Tom and Fiat had got thier act togther so that any car (fiat in fact with the port) this device would work. Before ordering I did ring and they said it would work. If as it looks like the unit will not pair, then thier add is incorrect and needs to be changed!
I will await what Tom Tom come back with, but the unit it upto date with software, so I think it's an issue with the interface on the port.

Sorry to drag up such an old topic but I am also having this same problem!

I got my Fiat 500 1.4 Sport ('10' plate) last June/July and got the new TomTom 2 Live for Xmas, but cannot get the device to pair to the car.

I have taken it back to my dealer 3 times already and each time they've tried telling me it is working fine, until when I showed them exactly what was up (that the blue and me logo should change to my cars menu) and they then still said I wasn't pairing it correctly and would do it for me. Oh how I had to stop myself laughing when the tech guy attempted to do it and failed 3 times...

Next I'm told I need to update the car's software, which will cost me £60 plus VAT or I could do it for Free at home. They assured me this would work. I took it home obviously and updated it, and it still doesn't work. Their response now is that I'll need to book the car into the workshop, however I need my car for work so this isn't really feasible, and also after spending (well my Dad spending) £300 on the SatNav in the first place, I feel a little damned that I should need to spend anything else getting it to work with the car.

Incidently, I got the SatNav from the FiatAccessories website, after having enquired 3 times if my Dealer had one in stock, which they each time couldn't tell me, and said they would call me back and never did.

Sorry my first post is a rant! I will introduce myself properly in another thread, and although not having much luck with this issue, I TRUELY LOVE MY CAR TO BITS! :slayer:

I searched for an answer to my problems with pairing my Tomtom to the car/phone and found this topic.
Is it so that the Tomtom 2 is to new for my 500 -08?
My phone says that its compaired to my Tomtom but the Tomtom says it cannot find any units.
Maybe I have to update my car´s software? I have updated it once to get connection with my phone and to make it speak English (it´s imported from Germany).
