The Nokia section reads :-
We have added compatibility with SyncML 1.1/1.2 , as used on current Nokia phones. This is to download the address book automatically.

Instructions:
1. Check the Fiat site page for your mobile phone and follow the 'step by step' instructions
2. If the installation fails 3 times, remove the phone and restart the phone after checking the SyncML configuration is setup correctly.

I've tried updating my 500 but the system gives me both USB 20 and 10 errors and says "Please check the contents of your usb media". I got the zip file and it had a folder in it. I deleted the folder and copied the files directly into the root of the usb stick. Am I supposed to do this? Or should I just extract the whole "5.04.09 Update Package Signed" folder into the root?

Files without the folder. Make sure when you update that you wait until the car tells you 'update finished , remove the USBkey' , it may restart a few times before this.

Does anyone have a copy of the message reader software lurking on their PC (B&M update decided to blow it away)? I've tried the links and they *still* don't work.

I also get the error messages, frustrating!

The message reader is part of the Automotive code so , installing Automotive 5.4 (the Blue&ME iPod update) will fix it

The Blue&Me section of our website will be updated accordingly, however I would suggest you sign up for updates on the Blue&Me page http://www.fiat.co.uk/blueandme/ - click on 'I want to know more' in the top right corner.

You will then receive an email update once the information is available.

I was getting the USB 10 and 20 errors on several attempts. As I had the Ecodrive installed I decided to insert my ecodrive stick to allow the stored data to be erased from the inbuilt memory. Did this then switched off ignition again.

Following doing this the update worked. It does take an awfully long time for anything to happen though and you do think that it's frozen but it hasn't so leave it alone until she tells you to take it out.

For those of you who have updated, am I meant to use the normal USB port or the special one for diagnostics in the middle?

Unfortunately, I now notice a fair amount of lag between changing songs on a 20gb iPod (3rd Gen I think), which was not there before on the other version of the software!

Anyone else suffer with this now? Any ideas of how to improve this?

I have just recived my 500 yesterday.
Paired up and working perfectly with my iPhone 3G.

I tried to upgrade to the 5.4 as I want the latest version, but I keep getting error: 10, once I got error: 20.

This is what is in the log, do you think I already have the 5.4 update from the dealers?

noticed the exact same problem.. lag when trying to change songs or do anything and sometimes when i turn the car on and i go to choose a song it says please wait while it builds the media library(sp) but it never does... so im left with having to unplug it then plug it back in again and then it works...

also it doesnt always carry on from when i last turned the car off and i think this is due to it having to rebuild the media library all the time..

cant wait for the new update to come out hopin that all these problems have been resolved..

For those who applied 5.4 update.

Fiat changed silently the 5.4 package, fixing the changing track lag, no more lag when changing the tracks.


Look at the files an you'll see that the old C82S_v09.cab now is C82S_v10.cab

Spotted that earlier little twangers!! They really need to be sensible and say 5.4.1!!

I updated in 5.4 (with the last packet version C82S_v10.cab) and now i have this terrible lag when changing tracks >< Its really annoying I tried to apply the update again but i keep getting an usb error. Anyone found a solution to that? I guess we have to wait for next update :/

I'm using an 80Gb I pod and now i find I have the Problem that i have to rebuild the Media Library evertime i start the car. this never used to be the case. If i upgrade the software will this help?:bang:
