Hey guys, hope you're all well!

Got a problem with the USB socket. When I whack a USB stick into it, the Media Player recognises the tracks i.e. the song names come up on the dash display, but they won't actually play. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? :)

Really? It's so annoying! It was working before, then one of my mates messed around with some of the buttons and it died. Boooo

Look for the fuse that operates the unit and remove it and then refit, this should reset the system and you should find it will work fine after that. but also mention it to the dealer as there as updates for certain system software versions.

Also worth mentioning, when you put music/audio on the stick from the pc do you ''safely remove the hardware'' or do you just remove the usb stick from your comp ?

Fiat recommend that you ''safely remove the hardware'' as oppossed to just removing the stick all the time. food for thought that's all

Hope this helps

Well worth a mention even though Windows XP SP2> does away with the need to do this, however it is microsoft that we are talking about.
Obviously your music is in the correct format MP3, Wma etc. as you had it working correctly previously.

As Omad says, remove the fuse (don't you just hate those mini blade fuses) from the fusebox (I think it is in the fusebox on the passenger (RHD) side at the back of the parcel shelf) and leave a few minutes and hopefully your probs will be sorted and then, don't let your mate anywhere near it again.
