Hmmmmm. Go onto the menu and somewhere there is a setting saying shuffle or whatever.

Can't remember the names of it all, haven't used blue and me etc for about 4months

Re: Play music in the correct order

Hi Guys

Try this?

The only was I have found for B&M to play tracks in order is to make sure tracks are in an ordered list as shown, otherwise it will play in alphabetical order.

Shuffle plays as it says, i.e. shuffle tracks and plays them randomly either as a folder, album or as I play the entire play list.

Re: Play music in the correct order

Even with shuffle off B&M will only play the tracks in alphabetical order unless the tracks are listed as above as it does not work on the same principal as a CD and follow tracks listings?

Re: Play music in the correct order

ok,

the shuffle option is off.
all my files are named '01 title', '02 titel' etc and still it plays all files in alphabetic order because it seems to ignore the track number, it just looks at the track title.

any way around this?

Re: Play music in the correct order

I've played around with a few things to get tracks to play in the order they are in an album. if you do this it works:

- rip CDs using Windows Media Player on a PC in WMA file format
- sync to a standard USB memory stick and plug that into the USB socket in the car (a Fiat 500 in my case).

I tried ripping to MP3 format using iTunes and syncing to an iPod. This plays the tracks in alphabetical order UNLESS you manually edit the track name held as a property of the file to include track number (find the file in Windows Explorer, right click, Properties, tab which has the track name in it).

I think the thing that makes the difference is using WMA as the file format (more recent codec than MP3, plus it's Microsoft's own so likely to have better compatibility with Windows Mobile based Blue&Me). WMA means it's incompatible with iPod of course ...
