i think the only recalls that are open on puntos at this present time are the 8v ecu one and a tow bar one.

smooth binki, digging binki, waiting for headrub binki, running binki,

The tow bar recall is now closed. Only the ECU reprogramming is current, and the steering column bush recall has been relaunched to make sure all vehicles were covered and done. Letters should be sent out to customers as of now. If you havent received a letter, and your Punto is pre 2001, get your Fiat dealer to do a chassis check for the steering column bearing, and also if your Punto was made between 2001 and late 2002, get them to check to see if the ECU reprogramming recall effects your vehicle.

sorry to go off topic a bit, but a few months ago i received a recall for part of the braking system in my mk1 punto.

Is there a date you have to get things done by? Or can it be whenever?

Cos the problem is that 'FIAT' who I have fallen out with through numours ill mannered phone calls will not let me take my car to a local garage, even though the local garage is an approved fiat garage. I have to drive near on 40miles to the nearest place to get it done!!

Sorry totally forgot to post the link. The VOSA give a very good list of car recalls...
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp

sometimes they are a bit slow updating though, so new ones probably wont be on their database.

Clayton....You must get your car to the dealer and get them to do the recall 4400, the reason being is that over the last 2 weeks I have completed several of these recalls at my garage and even on a S reg punto with 16500 miles on it the metal pipes that run from the centre of thee car, up and over the fuel tank were so rusty the broke open whilst uncliping them to inspect them but the rest of the pipes were corrosion free, ther is a hollow on top of the tank that lets water sit and the pipes go through so they rust away.... This recall instructs the dealer to lower the fuel tank to inspect and either treat the pipes( all the metal brake pipes on the car)and renew the retaining clips or renew any corroded pipes thats needed then treat pipes and fit new clips. So it maybe inconvienant to go to the dealer but worth it!!!!:)
