The 4th annual MITCAR event will take place on Sunday 22 August at Grimsthorpe Castle, Lincolnshire, which is on the A151 towards Bourne, a 10 minute drive east of the A1. The historic Castle, which has a wealth of interesting exhibits and features, is set in 3000 acres of gardens and deer park ideal for picnics and exploration.

A prime position on the lawns immediately in front of the Castle will be reserved exclusively for the event, which is open to Italian cars only on payment of £2 per car. This will entitle all occupants to a reduced concessionary entrance fee to grounds, gardens and Castle as well as automatic access to a prize draw.

Gates will open at 11 am and in the afternoon there will be a ‘Car of the Day’ competition for ‘The Camshaft Trophy’, limited to owners from the Midlands region. Additionally there will be cups for the runner-up and for three separate marque categories, chosen by popular vote and also prizes donated by our sponsors Fuchs Lubricants, makers of the Silkolene and Titan brands.

Organised through the Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club the event is now a regular and popular annual gathering and is enthusiastically supported by all the major Italian Owners’ Clubs. It is open to Italian cars of every age or description and a good selection of Classics is expected.

Whilst many will want to picnic, a tearoom is available for refreshments but barbecues are not permitted and dogs must be on a leash.

All enquiries to the event organisers Bryan Alexander (01159283636) or John Griffiths (07798 580002) and full details about the Castle on the web site www.grimsthorpe.co.uk

Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is only 15 minutes away from me, I've gotta go, it'll be a flyer though as I fly out to holiday later on in the early hours!

Purple. you gonna be there?

It's a nice place this, the grounds are superb, they have a 10k run around the grounds every Autumn, I've done it in the past (when I was a little more svelt) you'll enjoy it.

I have no excuse not to be there Dawn, even if it's only for an hour, it's my sons eighth birthday party on the Saturday and we fly out to holiday on the Sunday/Monday at 5am, so I'm sure I can squeeze it in, uh-hum, if I get my Mrs to do the packing! ;)

i'll be coming, with a 3 car convoy! me in cinq, dad in coupe and buddy in puntoGT, should be fun.
still cant get over the father unit wants to come along, think it might have something to do with dawn_of_time's hard selling of the event!
i'm going to be attending a FF group meeting, the car has got to blow up b4 i get there, just my luck at the min.
