Time flies when you're having a nightmare...

Sure has been a while. Back in April a mini cab driver crashed into me on a roundabout. He was trying to continue past an exit in the incorrect (outside of the roundabout) lane - the exit I was using at the time. Anyways, it's still ongoing as he is trying to dispute liability. I have sent off lots of relevant photos and anyone can put two and two together to see he was at fault.

As I'm TPFT I'm having to claim my uninsured loss off him - this is ongoing. I got the car back from the bodyshop recently. He did an excellent job and also beat my best two quotes by 300 odd quid so I'm very pleased.

Anyways, bet you're gagging for pics. I should hope you can tell the difference between before and after

Meanwhile I've been busy getting the bits ready for the engine change. I decided on rear discs, so got some Coupe 20v rear calipers and cleaned them up. Being alloy and relatively new I didn't deem them eligible for new seals (especially after seeing the ballache Kristian had with his rears). I probably just jinxed myself there

I also made my own rear caliper mounts because it proved £76 quid cheaper to make them myself using designs I printed off from this very site.

The front brakes are off a Bravo 1.8 (same as Punto GT3) and one side was extremely rusty. Four hours of slavery with a dremel had all the rust off and I also popped the pistons out and replaced the seals. Kritip's guide in the Misc guide section is very accurate for help with doing this. Red Dot discs and pads all round are the order of the day to finish the brakes department off. Well, plus some Earl's flexies all round.

Erm, bottom end of the engine is now built. Just waiting on GSR to build the head and make a manifold to TB adaptor for me. Need to work out where to place an air temp sensor as the later style MPI TB doesn't have one, while the P75 manifold doesn't have one because Fiat put it in the older style TB!

Need to go out and buy a few little misc bits and bobs like hoses and connectors from the MPI system.

Not long to go now!
