That basically covers everything I've done to present, but here's a list so it's in one place, no matter how mundane, it'll cover exactly what I've done, in no particular order:
Injector cleaner
GSR Induction
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced fuel tank
Alarm with microwave sensor and integrated central locking
KV85 leads
Replaced expansion tank cap (which had popped)
Replaced non-sealing, non-locking petrol cap
Single wiper conversion
GSR cam cover
GSR ported, flowe

Exhaust has now been connected up by the local exhaust place. Second time the car has been to Flowtech in Dagenham and both times they have done a top notch job.
Wiring has been done bar a tiny bit. Though this can only be completed once I've finalised the air temp sensor location so that I have the correct wire lengths.
Streamlined the butterfly screws and drenched in threadlock:
GSR co

Well, three weeks turned into two months pretty easily
It now boasts four wheels that touch the ground and a front bumper. Well, it looks like a car should, I guess.
It needs to be towed to the local exhaust place to get the midpipe modified as the 1242 Supersprint manifold runs further underneath the car. Induction kit is being made at GSR to incorporate my needs and also need to finish off a bit of wiring and piping under the bonnet.
Some pics from the p

And so the fun begins
It surprised me just how easy it is to take an engine out. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly right till I tighten up the wheelbolts and take it off the stands!
With the old fuel system designed around 1bar, and the fact I'd need to do some modification to the Fiat hoses anyway, I opted for new braided fuel line with the correct unions from Abbey Hose. They have pretty much anything hose-related there and were also very friendly. They ar

Right, edging closer to the big day!
I sorted the manifold dilemma in the week, having won one from eBay. The seller wouldn't split with the rest of the system he was selling, so I have to find a buyer for a Peco catback for a Punto now :P
It was a tad rusty so I thought I may as well get it all off and give it a coat of high temp paint to prolong its life. A crack had developed at some point in its life and repaired, though the person that welded it wasn't the most talented I must say...
Anyway, pic:

Time flies when you're having a nightmare...
Sure has been a while. Back in April a mini cab driver crashed into me on a roundabout. He was trying to continue past an exit in the incorrect (outside of the roundabout) lane - the exit I was using at the time. Anyways, it's still ongoing as he is trying to dispute liability. I have sent off lots of relevant photos and anyone can put two and two together to see he was at fault.
As I'm TPFT I'm having to claim my uninsured loss off him - this is ongoing. I got the car back from the bodyshop r

Well, a year after I started the job, I finally finished changing the colour of my dial surrounds to satin black instead of silver
Was quite impressed with the finish, but as I was putting away various cans and equipment, I accidentally hit the temp gauge surround with a can of cleaner, so there's a nice chip in the paint there . I'll touch it in the best I can when I get the chance (hopefully not another year ).
Got the crank back with new bearings. A

Got the block, pistons and flywheel back yesterday, so, here are the pics as promised!
The crank is in the machine shop still, waiting for its bearings. Shouldn't be too long now hopefully, especially as I'm currently living without first gear. Need to source a second hand gearbox now...woops.

Things are progressing relatively well. There was an imperfection in a cylinder that became evident after boring, so a liner was fitted to that cylinder. I'm dropping the crankshaft and con rods off shortly and I'm currently being tempted to take 200 grams out of the valve train too. I shall investigate further.
Inlet wise, it looks likely that the Punto 75 manifold will be used, bolted via an adapter to the mk2 style throttle body which has been bored out to 40mm. This is because the mk2 throttle body flows better, or so I'm told. It is un
