It's been requested for a long time and now I'm happy to say it's arrived!
Direct in-site person-to-person chatting has now been installed and is available to all logged in members.
You should now see a big bar at the bottom of your screen which resembles Facebook chat somewhat - so how do you use it?
Well, like Facebook, you can only chat with your friends - so if you want to start communicating with someone, you need to add them to your friends list - this can be done here.
Once added (and they accept) - you will then see their online status in the bottom right and be able to hit them up at will
If you want a multiuser chat - then this can be done in the chatrooms, found in the bottom left with the
icon.
Obviously as it's new, I haven't been able to test for serverload - but hopefully it won't be too bad. If we start running into issues, I may have to set it so only donated members can use it ... but fingers crossed
Oh, and if you want to remove it entirely - the option is in the user control panel

Reported scrolling issues with IE - should be some bug fixes out in the next week or so. Or you can just turn it off in the UserCP
Server load has gone up by 45% though which is more worrying .... gonna have to see if this can be optimised in some way.Posted 18-11-2009 at 11:35 by ben - I know you wont need to look at this at any point soon but.
it seems if you have a username with a space in it then it only displays the first bit before the space. So when I type I am come up as Captain

When you go into gallery it does not come up. But your chats are still there if you go back.

Updated 18-11-2009 at 17:37 by Adrian Bravo - Yeah it has an issue if loading a file from a different folder to root (so gallery, classifieds and links are all affected for now).
The new version was just released this morning, so later on tonight I'll get it upgraded, see if it resolves any of the current issues.
