Hi people!.. I come here as a newbie on my hands and knees in search of help! I have recently aquired a Barchetta, 1997, LHD, in Red.. which has now become a nightmare! [V] Brought the car from the MOD Police as they aquired it after it was abandoned at one of their bases and never claimed. The car had some minor damage whch is being fixed, however the problem is there are no keys for it! I am desperatly seeking a way of reprogramming the system with new keys or if nessisary, disabling the immobiliser all together! I would rather not disable, for obvious reasons, but Its comming up for two years since I aquired it, and its not budged from the workshop! ANY sugestions (that don't involve replacing the entire ECU, keys, locks etc.) are more than welcome! Please help a desperate man.. summers on its way after all, wanna get that top down!..

Thanx, Adz

Hi Adz and welcome to the forum:D

Nige is the Barchetta man and might know a way round your problem.

As far as I know it is not possible to re-programme the immobiliser.

I used to have a Barchetta (fantastic car). I didn't have a red key and no one could reprogramme the ECU at the time.

There was one guy who's B went in to a tuners to see if they could improve on the mapping - buggered his up and they had to sell out £1500 for a whole new ECU and keys.

Anyway, if anyone can help, these guys will:

Very friendly and the best people to have working on your car full stop.

I wonder where Nige is?

Anyway, I recall an email discussion I had with him a while back regarding remapping my b's ECU to get a performance boost. Turns out the ECU is completely sealed, i.e. no re-programming is possible.

All this means your probably going to need a replacement :(

Still...it's cheaper than a new (2nd hand) barc, and worth every penny to get it on the road in time for the sun[8D]

cheers

Matt

I'm here :), been trying to help off the forum - its easier, not that I have had any success with his parts! I am still on international backorder since last year!
