Hi,
Does anyone have any tips on fixing the saggy seat belt problem I have on my B? I went down the WD40 route and things worked for a week or so, but then the sagging came back. The joy of shutting the belts in the doors and then admiring the new dent on the inside of the door is just not fun anymore :bang:. Has anyone fitted new belt from fiat? Are the new belts any good or do things get saggy real fast?

Thanks

My belt is saggy too but i have got into the habit of just giving it a little help back into the housing as i take it off. i do it without thinking now maybe you could get into the habit it saves cash! and you can pretend your in a vintage sports car which was meant to have floppy belts(y)

I thought it was just me denting my door with the saggy seatbelt!! So are there any solutions to this problem? I've got used to tucking the metal clip into the velcro fastening at the shoulder of the seat it's now just my passengers I have to bark at to do the same!!! LOL

HEHEE yep we Barchetta owners have the samle problems and solutions :), The feeling when the other person gets out of the car and shuts the door far 2 hard (as normal) and you hear that loud clank sound telling you that the seat belt clip has just crashed into your lovely paintwork just inside the door... Its OK you say hehehe when you just want 2 cry hehhe not another dent in the door :) Doc Orange Peel

I just placed an order for two replacment seat belts for my 1999 B the other day, I think its around £80-£100 for the two. Fingers crossed this will fix the problem once and for all :).

Now how do i stop people from slamming the door when getting out of my B? :bang: I have a friend who has a new C Class and one day he will smash the window on my B getting out of it and shutting the door so hard. heheheh Yes Jez that is you I am talking about !!!!(y)

Nice one Doc .. let us know whether the replacement belts make any difference at all :D

docorangepeel ... so have you fitted the belts then? What's the verdict? Are they worth the investment? :D

Hi
I changed the seatbelts in my B and the sagging problem is now fixed :) It was only a 20 min job and is real easy, so give it a go if you are sick of getting the belt stuck in the doors :)

I took some pics while I was changing them, so if anyone wants them let me know :)

ok, your post was over 5 years ago, but do you still have the photos from when you changed the seat belts? And are they still ok, assuming you still have the car?

Thanks, Jeremy

Seat belts sprayed with silicon spray = work like new again. Takes a few times to use, and they will roll again, ang again, and again...cheap and easy fix.

Yes I have even better equivalent. Calls Anti-haft spray from technolit.
expecially for seat belts, fixed my problem instantly, even better then henks solution for seat belts

Where do you spray - the belt itself or somewhere in the mechanism?
