Unhappy barchetta cranking but will not start

Hi folks new to the forum.
I have a 1999 Barchetta, recently changed the fuel pump in the tank after the fuel warning light on the dash lit up,the one that looks like an injector. Now cranks over but will not start.Fuel is reaching the fuel rail but the spark plugs appear to be dry. any ideas?

Try the fuel pump fuse. Possibly the fuel cut out switch underneath the driving seat. Or a faulty temperature sensor, this can be disconnected and try cranking it then. Cheapest option first

Check if the camshaft sensor is connected.

When you turn on the ignition you should be able to hear the fuel pump run before cranking the engine.

hgt inconsistent starting, baffled.

If you look at this old post on the Punto site it might help. Some Punto ,Bravo and Stilo have similar engines.
