Hi all, at last got a replacement radio/cd im happy with to replace broken standard unit....but no sound...im a bit clueless at wiring, but are there simple things i can check out...?
2 new pioneer speakers fitted a while back.
Thanks.

Most units are geared up for front and rear speakers, could you of wired up to the rear perhaps, just a thought.

Got brief sound yesterday..6-8 secs...so ok on that front i reckon..going to pullunit back out over weekend and look at wiring and also maybe insulate the speaker terminals as i think the new "real" speakers may leave terminals very close to metal of housing..shorting these out i guess would cause them not to work?.

Thanks Dave for suggestion..

Pic is the s/h unit i went for...fairly period looking i think and meant to be quite good sound.

That's a strange looking radio you have there! Is it part of a satnav system? 'cos it has a "navsys" logo in bottom lefthand corner. I changed my radio 10 years ago for a Kenwood unit. It had 2 plugs on the leads, 1 for power, earth, elec. aerial ignition on etc. the other plug had 4 wires for the speakers. Both plugs fitted the Fiat wiring harness sockets with out the need for adaptors. If your replacement radio has no plugs (maybe they've been cut off) you're gonna need a wiring diagram for the radio.

Just "Googled" Becker Traffic pro. There's loads of info there, you just need the model number. It looks like it has the standard wiring sockets and the Fiat speaker plug should go straight in. Don't forget to adjust front/rear fader to front only!

Unit fits well and looks fine i think..plugs are normal(iso) and as i said i think once sorted should have good sound with the pioneer speakers ... think when they were new these were around £1,000... for £100 i could have gat a new sony/jvc/pioneer but thought it would have too many flashy graphics...rather spend it on this...
Theres no sat nav disc but i checked before i bought and €30-40 will get 1 region and £15 for a sat aerial...

Sound sorted... really well insulated all terminals and unit works fine...seems to be very good sound with the pioneer speakers...
Another problem was that the battery was dead on sunday...really dead..wouldnt come back to life on the charger....wondering if the unit is draining the battery? New battery fitted and we'll see in a few days...
