There is so much confusing stuff on the web, I look I read and think , what the

Re: Led stop and tail light bulbs

Hi, the Barchetta has reletively simple wiring and does not have a canbus system therefore led lights should not present a problem other than heat generation if you go for high intensity. Also led bulbs are polarity sensitive so if a bulb does not work when you put it in the holder, take it out and put it in the other way around.
I have not tried them myself in the Barchetta but hopefully others that have will pitch in.

Technically not problem, BUT it is illegal to fit LED "bulbs" into existing lights on a road car. This is because NO replacement LED "bulbs" are approved and E marked. They can't be because ther is no standard to approve them to. Production cars can use LEDs because the whole light is designed for them and approved as a light (the LEDs are not replaceable).
You CAN fit aftermarket LED DRL, fog or high level brake lights if they are a complete light and E marked. Beware of fake E marking and only buy lights from reputable makers and suppliers.

Not really, the standards and "E" mark come from ECE (Economic Community for Europe) regulations. The UK law is the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations which requires that lights and lamps are approved. in theory this could be a national standard like BS but as far as I know only the Germans have their own approvals.

Re: Led stop and tail light bulbs

Hi, in France the LED bulbs are sold without any legal warnings in the Auto shops but France tends to have their own approach to the European regulations. The light works but is 'non conformet' An interesting approach to Euro Regs that UK should have adopted many years ago. Oops just an opinion.

Well in the UK there is little enforcement, but that does not make them legal. It must be illegal in France too because they are part of the EU and must comply with the regulations. Some of the lamps are very bad and cause dazzle. These are more likely to get you stoped.
