General Barchetta cover

General Barchetta cover

I used a Halfords Advanced All Seasons medium car cover a few years ago. It fitted the B perfectly. The cross retaining straps were just in the right place to go through the wheels. I did however, use a 2 inch webbing strap over the roof and under the car. I used it for 4 months from Oct to Dec. They still cost 50 quid. Don't expect to get more than a year out of it though. Here's a link

PS. I'd also spray engine cam cover with WD 40 'cos mine went all furry!

That's the same one as I have for the Barchetta (will spend this winter outdoors), but I have the small size and it fits really well. No flapping about. It's clearly very breathable as the condensation quickly goes. I have a moisture trap within the cockpit as well.

Hi barchingmad, the monsoon fits really snug, even has ears for the mirrors. It's hard wearing too. Used it for 2 winters and no decay at all.

Correction on my first reply. it was a small size I had. It doesn't have "ears" for the mirrors but fitted well. My extra strap over the roof and under the car was a precaution. You don't want flapping because this will wear the cover from the inside and dull the paint. Best to clean & polish the car first and leave to dry for a couple of days, if possible, before covering.

I use the monsoon in winter. The rest of the time I have a cap which has the ears for the mirrors. Works really well, I'll look it up

I purchased a top half cover to stop water getting in the window seals over summer. The lancashire coastal 'breezes' have ensured that the elastic is now shot!

Going to go for either a stormforce or monsoon fromPJ Classic Car Covers due to recommendation here.

Thanks everyone!

I could do with mine of these for mine, as although it's kept snug & warm(ish) in the barn, we have swallows nesting in there every year, and they cr@p copiously all over EVERYTHING!!! :(

Happily, the little sods have flown south for winter now, so my B is safe from fallout until the spring.
