Hey I have 2 Barchettas one is 2000 and other is 1995, So is it possible to swap the engines from year 2000 (which is a bit different) to 1995. The problem is key is lost and immobilizer does not accept other keys I tried. Also changed immobilizer box+hey barrel and anyway key lamp is on and it wont start. So idea is to swap an engines.

if the other engine ECU it's similar you can try to swap it together with the immobilizer and the barrel and i guess it will work ...
because the engine ECU and the immo box are coded with each other ...
just give it a try ...

The thing is that the engines are a bit different, ECU boxes are with different connectors and differend design. It mean that I should change all the cables too???

yes , i think it's the only way !! :(

since the engine ECU and the immo box are pair together !!

Seems like an awful lot of trouble just to overcome the immobiliser, but I guess that's what they are designed for. Best of luck! (And for others on here, take good care of that red key!)

Hi, hopefully someone on this forum may have more knowledge but if you have the key code for the individual ecu there is a labourious way of coding a new key using the ignitionand throttle.. I think. The method is detailed somewhere, in the manual or maintenance book perhaps. The important thing is the code number for the key and immobiliser the rest is knowing how to use it.
I hope someone can help further, good luck
Steve
