My Barchetta lights were so dull and worn that I considered replacing them as I thought they can't be polished.. but Decided to order this chinese polishing kit for $3.5 , Link
If you consider ordering it I suggest to get the same item but from different seller as it took really long to arrive from that one.
Other expenses:
various grit wet sandpapers 500/800/1500/2500 grit
about 10grams of polishing paste, I just used some G3 I already got although I don't think it's for polishing lights, but that's what I had and it worked ok, although there is probably some better choice out there.
So I started with lights like these :bang:
Tools I used, just a regular drill will work fine, you don't even need the sander to be honest, also Make sure you have spray-bottle of water as you need to keep it soaking wet at all times when sanding, I just took the spray part out of some cleaner bottle and put in some jar of water and sprayed that way, didnt bothered to go to shop to buy an actual spray bottle.
this is after sanding it down first with 500grit with a sander, I took off A LOT of material as mine was just sooo worn.. than hand sanded with 800/1500/2500 and this is the result after sanding. For the other lens I just went straight with 1500/2500 as it wasn't as bad.
and this is the result after I polished it with polishing paste and the chinese buffing pads, I only used the orange flat one as it was the best, the 'fake wool' one was just terrible and that was pretty crap so didn't used that.
It took about 20minutes for the first one as I had no idea what I'm doing and it was really worn, and about 5minutes for the other lens. I'm sure I could now do 2lights in like 10minutes total. Total cost under 5euros and I got almost brand new lights. Came out pretty decent for a 20year old car.
