that's the thing.. 100k for ANY car is just ridiculous
I have 2years newer honda with 460,000 km on it and it costs me probably 5x less to upkeep it than a fiat with 3x less milage and barely driving it.
Infact I haven't done to the honda Anything at all for the past 2years, where as with barchetta i have to tinker with it pretty much every month..


DUde I have the same car you don't need to tell me how cool it is to drive it and all that,that's not the point!

I didn't say my car had 35K on it.

I have put 35K miles not KMs on mine since buying it.

And I didn't want a Z4 or S2000,I've always liked the B and was in a position to buy one .so I did.
This is usually such a nice forum to be on.

Amen to that.

Owned my B for near 10 years, paid not a lot for it, and to be honest wasn't in good condition, paint was in poor condition the hood had holes in it and generally was untidy. But I do enjoy the challenge of bringing my car back to good health, spent more than I should have replacing suspension, exhaust, brakes, wheelss, small amount of welding in the rear arches. And now I consider it to be for its age (1997) in good condition. Had it on the rolling road last year as I was interested in it's power output, and it still develops it's original output, this pleased me and surprised the technician . Mileage todate is 115,284 I have done 21,463 of those.

Dave-M, She looks a beauty, a credit to you. I hope to keep my Barchetta long enough to encourage my 7 year old grandson to learn to drive safely so he can look forward to driving her.

Paid just inder £3k for mine with 45K miles back in 2011. Had the cambelt and variator done straight away. I have also had to repair the passenger side wheelarch which rots badly on Barchettas. Handbrake is and always has been pants. Body is in very good condition with no rust or dents.
If you want a Maggiora built car as opposed to a Fiat built one, then you have to go for an older one.

Ok maybe I was too harsh, I paid just under 1000euro for mine, I haven't really spent any money on it except new tyres in the past 3years I have had it, with some few tweaks I could do myself ( as it's a fairly simple car) I have fixed it up whenever it has had any problems, but damn the Fix It Again Tomorrow thing IS true.. You can't deny it
..I kid you not, I test drove 5!!! Barchettas before I bought mine as it was the best out of them all, my friends barchetta caught on fire and was total loss,it was pretty terrible car as well for him.. But Why did I bought mine? because it was my dream car for Looong time


It was nice weather today over 30c ,drove to sea 250km away and it ran ok.. except everything squeeking, rattling and now I feel soo exhausted driving it because of the harsh ride. I do not like to spend any money on my cars, unlike you English folks who just throw $ on cars like you don't care,maybe that why Yours have been good as you spend ****loads on them to keep them alive.. If it's a good car it won't really need total overhaul every couple of years.

I realize you are trying NOT to say anything bad about your car as you are trying to sell it, I would do the same But deep down It's a good looking Pile of unreliable car!
