I've a 1996 ( I guess a MK1 version ) I'm in Canada and such I limited access to parts - looking for basic things like oil filters, fuel filter and such - I know I can order on line from Europe or England but I thinking that their must have been some Fiat, Lancia or even Alfa models sold in North America that would use the same common parts. How about brake rotors, calipers, pads, wheel bearing etc.. has anyone compiled a list of cross reference vehicles where parts will work where they are not specific to the Barchetta.

I live near Guelph Ont. The rotors from the new Fiat 500 are a direct replacement for the Barchetta, the engine is a match for the Alpha Twin Spark which was sold here.I bought an oil filter, a drain plug and plugs from Canadian tire.Rock Auto in Wisconsin, sells most brake and electrical parts. Body and trim parts, you're screwed. There may be up to 15 Barchettas in all of Canada.One in Alberta,one in Nova Scotia, and a hand full in Ontario.

Eper.fiatforum.com used to have the cross reference feature, you would just search with a part number and it would list all the vehicles including alfas and lancias which used the part. However I couldn't get this to work now that I tried it.

You can always search a barcetta part from a big German online shop, such as atp-autoteile.de, pkwteile.de or lott.de and when you find the part, look for passende fahrzeuge or similar tab to see all the cars the part fits. These lists are usually quite handy.

As a rule of thumb, the suspension parts come from Punto mk1, brakes and many more from Bravo and Marea, and engine, clutch and transmission from Marea 1.8 or Punto HGT or Coupe 1.8 na.

good information - I'll give that a try. would be interesting to hear from other owners here in North America and find out where they are sourcing parts. Shipping from Europe is slow and sometimes expensive.

What year Alpha Twin spark engine should I look to use as cross reference ? good to know on the rotors -

How about the rear brake callipers - I've seen two listing an alloy version and a steel - are they the same as on the Fiat 500 sport - sure look similar. Mine mouth with the 5mm allen head bolt.

All lot of the replacement parts I see only have the caliber side not the pins and outer pad carrier.. maybe I'm just looking at the wrong bits..

Do the alloy and steel rear brake calipers use the same brake pads ? You'd think the alloy versions would lower sprung weight so they would be advantageous to run if you can. Do they mount the same and can they swapped with little issue ?

Rockauto, in Wisconsin has ceased carrying all European auto parts as of February 2016. I have only owned my 98, since last fall so I am still looking for local parts. I have installed the fiat 500 rotors, exact match, I found new drain plug(18 mil) and oil filter at Canadian Tire. Will soon be checking on the new Fiat 500 caliper. I also hear rumors the Fiat Punto, may soon be sold here. Shipping from Europe, is big time money.
