Hi fellow B owners. We recently made a video to help promote our business in Italy and decided to use my Barchetta. Here's the result. We made some errors... so please forgive us!

I reckon that hat must have been super-glued on. Mine would have blown off within 100m!

Do B owners get a discount? (y)

(Nice video btw - your B looks gorgeous in the wonderful Italian sunshine)

Yes, she had to keep the speed down to keep it on!! We took the wind deflector off too so the car looked better.
Yes, of course we can give a discount ;-))!
I was really pleased how the car looked. We did it over a few days (actually different drivers) to get the best light.

The best thing is that now the car has become our mascot so I can justify spending some money on it. Any suggestions from anyone on seats? I was thinking of Alfa 147 seats. The only non-standard thing at the moment is the exhaust. But the brakes could do with beefing up and the standard seats are not so comfortable for my pasta-bloated butt.

Thanks eramosa!
I told Jenny and she said you couldn't have had your glasses on :) She's a beautiful girl and a beautiful person. Half English half Italian.

Wow! What a superb video. Classy car, beautiful lady and a stunning backdrop! I love Italy and have been fortunate to ski there every winter and holiday each summer too! Hope your business does well! Best wishes - Steve.

Now, imagine that shot of the car climbing the hill between the vineyards, if only it had been red......

Hi bumble Thanks! Blue is nice... :):):):) But I must admit I desperately wanted to buy a red one.. ;);):).

You UK guys should plan to drive down in your Bs. I know all the Italian Job film locations (the drive through the Alps is amazing) and I know Chris Bangle who was running running Centro Stile when the B was designed. He would love to see a load of Bs visit him. He loves them and is a really nice guy. He lives 30 minutes from here, not far from Turin. Ciao!

This idea I like, so who would be up for this?

I'm here and would be happy to help with some organizing.

First a date... the Alpine passes are open from around May/June to September/October.

Good meeting point is on top of the San Barnard Pass on the Swiss/Italian border. From here a good days drive is to visit some Italian job locations - where the Miura crashed in the tunnel, Minis out the back of the bus and the point where the bus hung off the end of the mountain. The drive up there is amazing. It's all doable in a day, getting to Turin in the evening.

Next you need to walk around Turin as well as see the Bertone factory, Fiat Mirafiori, and all those great scenes with Michael Caine. I'm not sure where the Maggiora factory was exactly but can find out.

Then it's essential to cruise the Langhe (where we shot my video). The food is amazing and the wine is rated the best in the world - Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, etc. The scenery is stunning.

See if Chris Bangle would give us half an hour - I'm sure he would. He loves Barchettas.

I've lived here 13 years and still never tire of driving these roads. Oh, and the icing on the cake would be a drive to Nice on the Tende pass. It's amazing.. Driving the F1 'circuit' in Monaco is good fun too...

Just do it!!

Sounds great! We've driven the Simplon Pass loads of times (day trips from Crans-Montana to Lake Maggiore) but I've never done the Grand St Bernard.

Even the missus is up for an Italian adventure in the B, so excitement levels are high! Timing may be an issue because of work commitments (hers, not mine), but if she can't get time off work, I'll just have to go solo :D

Many thanks for your enthusiasm about being descended on by random B owners, richit - it's positively infectious (in a good way ;))

Hi gar074, It's a pleasure for me. I love little adventures and I'm an avid organiser. I really appreciate living in a beautiful place so I'm happy to share what I know about it. And the thought of driving these roads with some other barcs fills me with excitement too...! Bit sad aren't we?!

Hi Richard, I've already started making a list of the jobs I'd want/need to do on the B before making such a long trip (cambelt's due, fuel pump is noisy, soft-top is leaking, etc), but sometimes a chap needs a bit of an incentive to spur himself into action! Ciao, Gareth

Yes.... I'm exactly the same. A ton of jobs to do... Heater unit leaking badly is the worse job. At the moment I have no heat... It's a FIAT. Always something..

Having done the Stelvio on a motorcycle  and not being in possession of a Mini Cooper with passenger operated horn:cool:, the next best thing for that area just HAS to be a 'B', so count in one from south west France too.(y)

The road from Cuneo to Nice is amazing. It's called the Tende and has lots of tight hairpins, 4-5 in straight succession in some parts. J Clarkson said God made Hot Hatches for his road :). This area also produces what is now recognised as the best wine in the world - Barolo, and I know many of the producers so can set up some wine tasting too. It's too good not to come and you're welcome to take advantage of my local knowledge! I'll be very happy to meet with fellow Brits in Barchs!
