Have spent the last week travelling in the Czech Republic, and yesterday I spotted my first B, a lovely blue one parked up on the edge of the Old Town in central Prague. I'd have taken a photo, but the person I was with - a former student of mine who was showing me around - would have thought I was deeply sad, so I didn't
Incidentally, that's one more than any pre-VAG Skodas (apart from a couple of very old and lovely red convertibles that were being used a tour vehicles in Prague). I thought I'd spot at least a few 120s Estelles and Rapids (the 1980s rear-engined coupe that had some rallying success) but no. I haven't even seen any Favorits, but the anonymous shape makes them more difficult to spot. Either they've all rusted away, or died of shame at all those old jokes...
