Hi, I've seen problems like I'm having on other threads but not sure if there has been a solution to these annoying sudden shut offs, here is what happens, the cars works fine, starts in one crank, runs nice and smooth, then at any given time, one week two weeks, the fuel injector light might flash and the car begins to buck sometimes, sometimes it just dies from that time it's now hard to start, can even give a small back fire while trying to start , there is lots of fuel pressure in the line, however no power to the injectors, replaced the crankshaft sensor , now was told to suspect the camshaft sensor, not sure what else could be??
I've read other places that the air mass sensor can cause some stalling issues but mechanic says there is no correlation between the air mass and the injectors, like the crankshaft and camshaft sensors, can anyone confirm this?
Bought a iCarsoft scanner, I have found a diagnostic port near the ABS unit inside the engine compartment, I was told that this is for ABS and injector readings, however I'm not able to find any other port anywhere I've read on other threads, it's 1997 B, if anyone knows of other ports, it'll be much appreciated.

Thanks Steve, starting to have a love hate relationship with this thing, imagine driving on the highway at 110 KMH with a purr of the exaust then silence, someone come to my rescue,....... match in hand!!!

I think I have found it, in theory anyway, going through the workshop manual, it seems to be on the passenger side below either the mat or carpet slightly above flat at the corner in front and lower of the ECU , there seems to be a cut out to get to it, at least on the manual, is it really there??? Tomorrow will tell!!

Thanks Steve, looks like it might be there, have not had time to look, but later this afternoon I will, while reading the workshop manual and other things last night it looks like the camshaft sensor might be the problem, given the symptoms, it could be a couple other things, such as a couple of relays but less likely,....... oh look where that sensor is, nice .....might as well put a new belt on

it's there, just pull the thick rubber mat where the passenger feet would be up under the dash, between the mat and sound deadening material..... presto, there it is, please please........ talk to my iCarsoft reader, please
