I need to know if Barchetta has a number on the engine to
make sure that the engine is not of another car!!!

I need to know because I change cam belt whith cam tools...TDC
tools, but the car seems to have lost power!!! Tha car is used,
and I don't know if it is oem engine!!

Hi, just had a quick look at my handbook, model and serial number should be stamped on the engine block at the front top right as you look at the engine and just under / below the cam cover.

Hi, just got my Barchetta back from the garage this evening, I have had a quick look as per the handbook instructions, looking at my numbers they bear no relation to what they handbook says they should be. They are similar to yours, the last four A869 7. I have a feeling they might be production numbers and the last four may relate to the type of gear box. I will have a further look tomorrow, unless any member can throw some light on the location of the engine type stamped on the block?

I have looked again at the engine block and only found a round date stamp and the words 'Gas' . I have also looked in the workshop manual and it states the serial number stamped under the cam cover is engine type and number. I am no mechanic, can I suggest you look in the technical section, if you haven't already, in relation to problems with cam belt changes?

I have used oem cam lock tools, and tdc tool too!!! :-( i have checked my engine compression, and is 13:1 , and it should be 10:1!!!! The car use to run before whith 13:1!!!
