Hi chaps. Given up finding a Stelvio green one! However, seen this, as some of you also may have.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...new,new/model/barchetta/radius/1500?logcode=p

Couple of things.

Is the great Fiat red key idea applicable to this year of Barchetta? I know the earlier one's did, but did they all have a red key. Owner doesn't have it if so.

Also, the speedo is in KMs he says. He says it was registered new in the UK - as far as he can tell. But if that were the case, then surely it would have an MPH speedo - unless "personally" imported as new perhaps. Now, is there any way at all it could have a km/h speedo but the mileometer/odometer reads in miles? Has around 75kms showing, but is this defo going to be kms?!

Other than that, it looks quite nice, service history to a point, few receipts. Fair price for a Riviera. I am near Aberdeen, it is in Basingstoke so a gazillion miles away.

Anyway, if anyone has a view on the red key amd kms thing, can you let me know.
cheers

Mine's a mk2 & I have 2 blue+grey, 1 blue(thin) & 1 red key. The car is UK-spec (ie headlights dip left, rear fog on right, rev. light left & speedo MPH, logging miles). The V5 doc - section 3 Special notes (which cannot be removed) - reads "Declared new at first registration."

The 3rd brake light was introduced on late mk1's, I think to meet some EU legislation, but I have never heard of a KPH speedo logging miles. I guess anything is possible - just be wary!

Hi lanciaman

That car looks like a limited edition Riviera model - very rare in blue - it has the quilted black leather interior

I went to see a car very much like that one about 18 months ago - for sale at a left hand drive car centre in Hertfordshire

If it's the same one it had excellent history and mechanical condition - a number of the plastic trim items were cracked but could be replaced - £3,500 sounds a good price

Let me know how you get on - I've now got a black riviera

Hello, yes it is a Riviera and it should have a mk2 front bumper. I'm only 24 miles away - could have a look for you if you like...?

The speedo can be in kph & mph but the 'mileometer' will be in kms - mine is like this but is not UK reg car. Apart from the V5, I think (sure someone can correct me as the Riviera may be different being a special edition) that the electric wing mirrors and front fogs are UK reg giveaways. It might be worth asking the chap if the front fogs work, as fogs on a mk2 would be round - maybe someone replaced it and not necessarily wired it all up - sounds strange but happened to me!

Thanks chaps. Yep, defo a Riviera. Front bumper is correct - I had a black one as well on a W which was same as this (colour aside!) other than mine had no baboons arse 3rd brake light!

No red key with it. Not sure if that really matters. Had umpteen Lancias and Fiats and have never needed the red key yet - famous last words.

Have decided to give it a miss as although seller was very pleasant, he couldn't give me much detailed info. It does look good but being umpteen miles away just too much hassle. Thanks for the offer to go have a look though!
cheers

The Fulvia. Not an expert by any means but if it is an unrestored car in the condition it looks to be in and at that price, it would be a very good buy. But, it seems very shiny and new. The advert doesn't really tell you anything - although any ad that has " coupons completely rubberized" as a selling point has to be good!

Italian car so every chance it is structurally fine, but it would have to be a case of get someone who knows what they're doing. Series 3 had some cheapskate Fiat influence sadly. S1 and 2 are the nicer ones, but all are appealing. Euro same level headlamps - matter of taste if you prefer the raised UK ones. But if as it looks, you would never get a UK car in that condition for that price. Factor in a good £2k to get it home, registered and so on if you were to do it. Plus you would need to bribe him for the number plate and send it back I believe....

A barchetta is an easier option!

You have fine taste! Do it soon as barring another economic collapse, they are going up in value quite rapidly. What was a £6k car 3 years ago seems to be £10k now - albeit these are asking prices. Who knows what people actually get.

As you're used to LHD, a euro car is likely to be much more rot free than a UK one and poss the better way to go.

S3s won't be as much as earler cars.

And if you can afford a 1600 for silly money cheap get it as most are now silly money expensive!

Hi blackydog. Just a thought about the Lancia - the area code is Naples. I would be very cautious as it's the Italian city of crime and cons. Personally, I'd never buy a car from there as I've heard all sorts of stories. I have friends in Naples and not all people are dishonest but it has an unenviable reputation. Just be cautious and check everything.

Hey hey!

But no....it is the standard early green car - which is probably a nicer green than the Stelvio really which can look a bit flat.

Cheers for posting though!

Here we go again !

Today I actually saw a Stelvio green Barchetta LE.

Solid green paint,Tan hood and softline spoke alloys.(y)

On the A23 ,Purley/Coulsdon area ,near a certain specialist.

Although I shouldn't have been able to see the hood as it was a lovely day

and the hood should've been under the cover.

Can't remember the last time I saw a B on the road - including mine :(

Definitely going to put that to rights this summer, if I can find the ££ to put it back on the road :( :(
