Hi guys,
It's been a long while since I posted on here.
Recently I got the opportunity to move to Serbia, and I took that opportunity. The Barchetta was a bit of a problem as I have moved out here for three years.
It is such a special car and as such I could not bear to let it go. If I did let it go it would have been a panic sell and it would have gone for peanuts (this actually happened with my older passat which I had to panic sell before coming here). So, The car is now in storage in the UK with what looked to be a very nice, dry, sheltered storage place. I managed to do some paint work and I gave it a very thorough clean before leaving it. It's (almost) rust free!
I may think of bringing it over here to Serbia but it is a 20 hour drive, which was okay in a nice comfortable 6 gear Passat, but it may be an 'experience' in the Barchetta (especially on the Autobahn) . Also, the driving is fairly atrocious at best here. Apparently full-body resprays are cheap though.
We'll see. At least it is nice to know that it is in good hands for the foreseeable future. It would be nice to take it to the coast in countries like Montenegro.
Cheers
Chris
