We have a 1998 Barchetta and since buying it, have had to replace the whole fuel system including the tank. (The problems we have had are the result of the car standing for about 10 years and not being maintained well during that time).
Everything has been fine since then, except we now get a smell of fuel - we have traced it to the fuel tank area and our local garage, who is very helpful, said it was the breather valve. He managed to order the right one but there was no washer with it and he cannot locate the correct size washer as they don't seem to make them in that size anymore - only a larger one that doesn't fit.
Does anyone have any ideas as to where we can go to try to get this washer? We don't even know what the correct size/part number should be, so any help would be welcome.
With thanks,
Kate
