Hey all.
I only had 1 blue key when I bought my B 3 weeks ago. Ive had another one cloned today that works perfectly but I might have another issue now:eek: The guy that cloned it for me had to keep trying it in the door lock to make it perfect. In doing so, the lock feels a little tight now when you lock/unlock. It feels like it might just give in. Ive tried WD40 and no change.
Worst case scenario-if it gives in and wont lock/unlock any more, could I just change the locks and use a different key just to get in? I understand that I couldn't start the car with this new key. Or is it the case that the door lock is looking for the chip/key that starts the car?

I could be worrying over nothing but I like to be prepared.
Cheers Andy

Hi Andy101, does your Barcha have central locking? Mine didn't and being so used to having cars with it, it was a little frustrating so I bought a kit off Ebay for less than £30 and it was very easy to fit. Took me less than 2 hours. That way you don't have to ever put your key in the door locks again. Very simple, cheap and convenient. And when you have your door panels off it's a good opportunity to lubricate everything there - your window mechanisms and locks.

I can see why you would be worried. Not sure why that would have happened. i think richit has given good advice. I hear the central locking is an inexpensive and easy fit. It would solve your problem for now and you might be able to get it looked at later. The central locking is so much easier for daily use.
