Hi. My timing belt is due for a change this year. I did the job myself last time but cant remember where i got the procedure from. I possibly used a Haynes manual for another Fiat. My questions are:-
Why doesn't the workshop manual link work?
can anyone send me a copy?
What other Fiat uses the same engine? (is it Punto Mk1?)
Should I use a Gates kit which includes a water pump?
Should I change the thermostat? (the temp gauge doesn't reach horizontal and I'm pretty sure it used to)
I consider myself as fairly competent mechanically and have a cam locking kit and Ribe keys.
Any links or answers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

The engine is the same as the Punto HGT and very similar to an Alfa twin spark.

Yes, change the water pump as well - be careful with the O-ring seal on this as it caused me a headache last time!

If you have suspicions about the 'stat, yes, change it at the same time.

It's not a massively complicated job and shouldn't be a problem for you.
