I wonder if anyone can suggest a good deal for temporary insurance. Sadly, these days, I only get to drive my B for a month or so during the summer holiday. Last year ecar covered me for around £90, but have discontinued the deal. The best offer I can find now is over £200, which seems a lot for a month's fun.

I'm also hoping to take the car over to Europe for a bit of a tour..

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. We have just started a new scheme for short term insurance. It can cater for drivers aged 23 and over.
If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Something to be aware of is DVLA checking databases for insurance. I do a bit for Citizens Advice & saw someone recently who was taken to court for failing to keep insured a car he had taken off road.

May be better to consider annual insurance with a very low mileage specified - I insure my B for about £200 for 4,000 miles p.a. (but I am an o.f. of course

..surely not if the car is SORN?!

Should be ok if the car is SORN'd. Of course there is a check for valid insurance when a car is taxed, but 6 months is the min. tax to buy, so don't delay SORNing again if you want to stop insuring!
