I want to insure my Barchetta as a classic now it is 14 years old. Does anyone have a good cheap insurer to recommend?

Chris Knott are excellent

Key items for a lower premium are:

- Garaged
- Limited miles
- No mods

Good luck

How low do you want to go? I run mine through the comparison websites every year, and every year for the last 3 years I've been surprised at how low the quotes have been. And I've got some cuddly meerkat toys to add to my collection..

I am with AF for mine. they try to increase the premium every year but if i find a genuine cheaper quote they do try to match it. Don't think I am much of a risk though it is my 3rd car and does less than 1000 miles a year and is garaged when not in use.

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

hahah uk insurance is such a joke!
here in my country I pay aprox 60quid per year to insure my barchetta (third party).

and... Im 23!
had a look and it would cost me about 3000/year to insure it in UK.

Had a particularly bad 'renewal experience' with Adrian Flux this year and got a much better response and price from Chris Knott for the Alfa - will be asking Chris Knott for a Barchetta quote soon.

Yes but do you have Vauxhall Corsa hot rod drivers banging the premiums up??

we have even worse ;)
full of old bmw hot rod drivers in cars which barely hold together :slayer:
still that doesnt explains why your insurances are 50X higher in uk... Maybe because for you guys 3years old car is already OLD and time to swap? :D
brb bang on door- Payout for full Car Value, brb full of companies who pray for people to get hurt so they can sue for payout for whiplash, lol.

pussys and full of ''legal'' scam artists.

Hi,

I use Peter Best, my car is on limited miles and garaged, but I live in Northern Ireland so premiums might be a bit higher than the mainland. Good hunting,

Ral

You really have no idea how our legal system or insurance system works, and why it works as it does, so I wouldn't start to judge. I don't judge yours and it could be full of flaws for all we know.

The country's economy doesn't help either.

I agree - he's got it spot on! We are royally ripped off in this country. The UK insurance industry is a joke - and there are plenty of independent studies to verify the fact.

You lnow Pete, they did take the amount from my bank for the original renewal quote after giving me the new quote but to be fair when i rang them up ready for a fight they apologised and refunded me the difference immediately, Brian.

Hi,

Just got my B out after three years burried in the garage.

It was previously insured & owned in my wifes name so I thought the insurance was going to be alot as it was new to me.

However I insured it with Liverpool Victoria, as that is who I have my main car with. They matched my full no claims bonus and weren't in the slightest bothered by the upgraded suspension. Fully Comp for two named drivers £130.

I thought that was pretty good.
