Is it a straightforward job to replace a bulb - front side light - a small bulb located in the top right hand corner of cluster, driver's side. Couldn't find any info here on the part and procedure. Hope the bumper doesn't need to come off!

It looks impossible but can be done. I suggest that, having removed the cover, you take your time and use a compact mirror to have a good look. Feel around with your fingers before removing the old bulb. Removal is easy compared to the refitting which can be frustrating. Good luck.

you have to have an arm with 4-5 elbows. so i rather remove wheel and inner plastic arch cover and then i could change bulb even with teeth. especially when installing HID and you have to be carefully to put bulb in hole.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Lacking tentacles or even double-jointed digits, I think I'll wait till I'm changing a wheel or brake discs! In the meantime, perhaps I'll start a thread on injuries incurred fixing a B

As said, it isn't difficult if you take the wheel off and lift the arch liner.

The front bumber pulls away easily enough, just two 15mm nuts need to be lossened slightly on either side,gently prise the inner arch away from the bumper and indicater wires just twist and come away and if you have fogs its the same.

Just hold and pull away. anything to do with the lights is then very easy..

With an MoT booked for next week I'm finally getting round to replacing the front side light. I read somewhere that the bulb type was changed in 2003..? Could anyone advise whether the following would fit a 2001 B:

I'm a bit confused?? I got mine from Halfords and the bulb is still listed in their flip chart thing! Anyway, as there is no Scottish Italian Car Show this year, how about a meet up for a coffee? Steve

Double apologies I meant headlight bulbs - do I need to detach the battery to change the bulbs ? Has anyone had any luck changing them from the bonnet ? Looks like can reach around to the back of the bulb?

No need to disconnect the battery to change any bulb, best to make sure it isn't switched on first though.

Any tips for changing a front direction indicator?
The manual simply says that this should be changed in a FIAT service.
I put the car on a jack, looked beneath. I have no idea how to reach it.

Update on the front direction indicator light removal.

It is needed to lift the car on a jack/elevator and get under the front bumper. From there, the bulb socket can be reached.
