No real purpose to this post except to vent. Somebody decided it would be fun today to put a few dents and crack in the paint around the passenger wing mirror of my B. Not an easy fix so trying to sort out how I can afford the respray sooner rather than later. Grrr.

I`m also in London & its something we have to live with, I`d imagine its the same in most UK cities.

Seems to mainly be drunken teens doing this kind of thing from what I`ve witnessed, I`m in a nice area of London, but in the last 2 years I`ve had:

2 mirrors kicked off my Uno as well as a dents put in the bonnet & front wing on seperate occasions

3 drunk hooded teens attempting to climb on the bootlid of my XJR intending to run over the roof, I actually got dressed (was 1am) & went out to them, they`d gone, so I jumped in the car &, fuming, I hunted for them with the intention of running all 3 over dead.. they dont know how lucky they were that I didnt find them...

The XJR`s also been keyed a couple of times

One of my Daimlers had the petrol cap levered open (damaging the cap & wing) & the petrol nicked, done by a teen who had a moped who was subsiquently caught 2 years later...

Other Daimler had its locks damaged twice

Had a teenager trying to lever the window frame open on my kids mums Almera (which doesnt even have a radio fitted) when there was a police van parked 50 yards up the road...

Neighbours Alfa 156 had its mirror kicked off by drunk teens

Neighbours Multipla had a big dent put into it tailgate by teens

Neighbours Frontera broken into 3 times

Neighbours Smart car tipped on its side by drunk teens

Neighbours Fiesta`s roof & bonnet jumped on by teens

Neighbours 306 broken into several times

Neighbours Corsas mirrors kicked off

Neighbours Campervan broken into & vandalised

Drunk teens also seen running down the road hitting every car with a baseball bat

All thats happened in the last 2 years & all between midnight & 3am, usually on Friday or Saturday nights & they usually do it leaving parties with 50-80 of them drifting down the road in loose groups, trampling through peoples gardens, kicking wheelie bins over, throwing bottles & recycling boxes into the road, waking people up & then threatening anyone who dares say anything to them.

I`ve seen them fighting each other & I`ve seen knives pulled twice...

Last week I caught a 10-12yo emptying his nose & onto the bonnet & spitting on the windscreen of my Uno...

This is the future of urban life in the UK.... makes you want to take the lot out with an M4...

same story here... and then will say those kids are not bad but hyperactive. if you ask me hyperactivity is treated by belt not by talk. there is no respect to anybody, why? because they are not afraid, they know if kick his but you will end on first page of newspaper as child molester. other peoples will see his sad face, and you will go to jail. i know my neighbor kid report his own parents to police because dad did not allow him to go out on Sunday.

The Barchetta is a beautiful car and attracts attention - good and bad. I have no idea why people like to damage over peoples property but our country is way too soft on all who break the law.

I feel bad for all who experience vandalism. I have the odd scratch here and there - some from neighbourhood cats and some from careless people and that is annoying enough.

I've had every panel keyed and on one panel someone tried to key the word Tw*t

Also key through back window

Wiper arm snapped off

Idiot parking dents

finally someone smashed the front in the other week (but left a note)

When people realise the value of Karma, it will be a good day. For some it is too late

Sympathies

at least you in UK can peacefully go to watch football match... over here is like in battle field. and i agree with nicholasb, law is too soft also here. almost same penalty is if you drive few km/h to fast or break somebody's all limbs and put him in coma. there are so many nice works for lawbreakers, like cleaning auto-bans, mowing the grass on the embankments, nuzzle for new roads, breaking stones for tiles...

Time to move, I think. I live in a small (all be it, ****ty) town in Scotland and have no problems with my B. In summer I regularly leave the hood open. I never lock it, and I lost the remote for the alarm long ago.

This maybe wasn't the smartest thing to post on the internet.

I`m quite suprised by that F4ust, I thought Eastern Europe was largely a peaceful place where people respect each other, largely because the police were `old school`.

Beautys got nothing to do with it Nicholas, I got my kids Mum a 1995 Honda Civic saloon last September to replace the Almera (which is why the Almera was at mine for a while), not a pretty car, but it was a 1 OAP owner car with 36,000 miles & was completely mint & original, within 3 months every panel was keyed... its also been hit twice in car parks damaging the bumper, a headlight & a rear door....

In the meantime the Almera was left in another part of London & had both mirrors kicked off one night.

Years ago I had a rat look matt black classic Vauxhall, even that got keyed...

I`m not even counting parking dents in my street swallow, all of mine have scuffed bumper corners, the XJR has a scratch up the OSR wing & door from someones mirror, my Uno`s rear bumper (unpainted plastic) has white crease marks in the middle from being hit by a towbar (& has had a broken OSR light lens).

My Daimler was hit by a woman in a Fiesta, but my neighbour saw her do it & gave me her reg number, I passed the details to my insurance company, they got in contact with her insurance company who then sent an inspector out to look at my car (he inspected it alone as I wasnt in), they then sent me a letter saying the damage didnt match the damage one her car so they werent going to pay out....

I`ve lived in some crapholes Funkstar, including Tottenham, & have never had the problems I`ve had here despite having `flash` cars constantly. I`ve been here for 9 years & have seen a rapid increase in antisocial behaviour in the last 2-3 years, it seems to be spreading too. Part of the problem in my area is the local police stations close at 10-11pm, meaning if you put a call in at say, midnight, the police have to potentially come from the traffic depot 7-8 miles away, that takes a minimum of 20 minutes & I think the youths (& thieves) have now realised they have a 20-30 minute window to do what they like, double that on Friday & Saturday nights...

Sorry to hear about the B patches... Totally agree with bumble on this!!

I know when I was young if I ever got caught doing something like this my parents would have beat the c**p out of me.... Now the kids would just take you to court and win!

I'm luck to be able to keep the B safely locked in the garage but my other car has to sit outside and gets scratched and dented by the local kids (n)

Funny though... it's a new ford focus with 20,000 KM on the clock and I just look at the scratches etc and sigh!!! If the B gets scratched ... i'm out for heads!!

Looking at other posts here... I cn safely say i'm not moving to London !!
