I'm in for my first MOT test with B in a couple of days and I've seen from the two previous protocols that the lambda value was 1.01 and 1.03 (the allowed interval is between 0.97 and 1.03)... Anything I can do to have a better chance not to get a too high value? Driving around for a while to have the right temperatures, or is it better to keep her cold just before the test?

in Sweden they still measure the value from the exhaust pipe and not the value reported by the ECU by checking the OBD-data

same here... and guy that works there send me back to one round driving in high revs... after 5-6 mins i came back and all was ok.

Ok, I'll have to wait until Thursday before I know the results, but here's last years:

HC 74 (100)
CO 0,1 (0,5)
CO 2500 0,3 (0,3)
Lambda 1,03 (0,97-1,03)

so it was quite high on all four. Maybe (hopefully) just a broken lambda sensor after all...

the lambda should be changed every 50k anyway so maybe it,s that time

Just passed the MOT-test, even if the lambda var 1.05... the guy found two cracks on the exhaust pipes and recommended a change to a stainless one. Any ideas on what that might cost?
