Posts: 174 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Hard top storage and plugs I have just rectified a big mistake - I repurchased my Barchetta that I sold two years ago. Good news - only another 5K on the clock. Bad news they didn't care for it as well as I would have liked - a couple of extra dings and scratches and they have made a mess of the hard top - hence a couple of questions: 1) Any idea where I can get extra grey plugs for securing the lining on the inside of the hard top? 2) Any suggestions for storing the hardtop - I have seen hanging bags and racks on the internet but would appreciate if anyone has a recommendation/personal experience? Nice to be back!

Its a humping big thing to move around, awkward to store and easy to damage. I'm thinking about taking out the softtop/frame and converting the B to a hardtop coupe. In for respray..bodyshop has offered to permanently fix the roof to the car and blend it in... Don't know....

Whilst it's much quieter, it actually isnt as waterproof as the hood as there is a small gap at the top leading edge of the windows. I prefer the look of the car with the hood rather then the hardtop. I built a loft into my garage to store it for the summer but I dont have a vertical wall big enough to use a rack and plan to hang it from the roof. I dont want to leave it lying on the floor as it will be susceptible to mice attack. I was talking to a bloke who had a Mercedes 450 SL with a hard top and these are very, very heavy. He had sufficient headroom in his garage to have a pulley system based on an overhead clothes airer, and used this to lift the hardtop off the car by himself and left the hardtop hanging up when not in use. I thought this sounded a good plan but I don't have the head room. Steve
