Barchetta handbrake

Can someone please tell me how to adjust the handbreak, as its right at the top,and doesnt hold the car too well.
Also the back of the drivers side seat is at an angle, something has obviously worn or been damaged, is this a common problem on the Barchetta, can it be fixed.

Confused by your reply dude?

Handbreak - Take the centre arm wrest part out and adjust it then.

Screws for this. One inside the box and the other just under the handbreak cover. Also disconnect the ciggy lighter.

Two screws inside to tighten.

confused.... he is talking about seats right?

He said: "Also the back of the drivers side seat is at an angle, something has obviously worn or been damaged, is this a common problem on the Barchetta, can it be fixed."

first picture shows where it like to break, and second is position of seat when that part is broken.

Re: Barchetta handbreak

Ninos advice regarding the handbrake is sound. Mine has two large phillips screws, under the rubber mat, in the arm rest locker and a further, smaller screw below the handbrake lever cover at the front. Having removed the screws it was possible to remove the armrest assembly without disconnecting the ciggy lighter. The adjustment is by way of a 10mm nut but I couldnt access this with the lever in the 'off' position and, could slide a spanner on in the 'on' position but not turn the spanner, which either hit the floor or the lever itself. I solved the problem by using an allen key to remove the whole handbrake mechanism from the floor and then adjusting the slack using a 10mm spanner. Refitting the lever was easy but, I could have taken up even more slack. The only way, I can see to adhust the handbrake, without removing the lever first, would be to use a 10mm deep socket or box spanner, which I don't have. Anyway, its not a difficult job but easier for a right hander to achieve from the passenger seat.
