Re: Strange wheel wobble

about talking at 130kmh: yes, no talking at that speed. i use headphones for listening music... hardtopers can normally talk, but softtopers cant...
yes, wind is pushing windows so they can fit in seals, this is probably because rails are too short when window is open and window can bend. cars that have frame around window doesn't have this problem...

well this may help, stick it and pull it when closing window.

Re: Strange wheel wobble

If the windows are closed before hitting 130 k's I don't really have a problem - although obvioustly its loud. If I raise the windows at 130 k's then they don't sit properly - I have to slow down, raise them and then put my foot down again - job done!

Re: Strange wheel wobble

Don't worry about the gap in the cover, I have yet to see one that sits properly! When you change the aux belt you should not need to change anything else, just the belt!

Re: Strange wheel wobble

Hello all, I have just bought a Red Barchetta (maybe the only one in South Africa) and have had a little more expense than at first contemplated. Much vibration in the front end caused me to order another strut from Italy having already fitted an accident damaged one, along with front bumper, windscreen, left fender and left door; Then vibration/noise made me replace front bearings, after which car does a pirouette on hitting a rough patch on the road; this was because of worn steering rack ends, that is being done on Monday, causing some tension between me and my bank manager. But it is a gorgeous car, turns heads here, this in a country with a wide variety of exotics. After all of this is done, I have to submit the car for Certificate of Fitness (Like UK MOT except we only do it on change of ownership) and then I will begin to really enjoy her. Any suggestions where I can get an owner's manual (English or Italian), I feel VERY alone here. Silverbarchetta sent me some very useful specs the other day - what a great forum!

hey... i changed yesterday the belt , changed the engine oil (5w40 magnatec) the right/back bearing... and wow... the b it's like new. i didn't recognized it. no noise, no nothing...

i just have a problem wich i have to solve soon. It's about the 1st gear. Sometimes i set the 1st gear kinda hard... but this while stoping and going. Should be a problem?

thanks

Might need to adjust the clutch, a simple job that will only take 15 mins of trial and error - I had a similar issue when I changed my clutch with 1st gear. You should find 2 x 11mm nuts on the end of a cable on the top of the clutch housing hidden under the induction pipe and battery tray. One nut is a 'check nut' the other makes the adjustment, you need to play with them for a while until you get the right position!

Re: Strange wheel wobble

Clutch pedal should be just slightly higher than the brake pedal so adjust until about that position.

Re: Strange wheel wobble

For 1st gear, I often found it a bit reluctant to go in. I had always planned to change the gearbox oil, so you might try that of the clutch is correctly adjusted.

Going back a few posts I can translate it (with some help from a friend) if you're still interested, although it may take a few days as my vocab for car parts isn't that good!
