Strut Brace

There is a guy on e-bay selling chrome strut braces to fit non ABS Barchettas. He has 3 and he wants £30 plus £12 postage for each. Will not fit my ABS car but someone might be interested. Whilst I am unable to say if the braces are any good, or not, I did find the guy really helpful when dealing with him this time and when I bought a wind stop from him last year. The item number on e-bay is 20022283432 and you can mail him direct at:
vivon.nino@gmail.com. He is in New Malden in Surrey and is happy for prospective buyers to go to his house to check goods out and see if they fit before purchasing which seems pretty fair to me. If anyone knows where I can get a strut brace for my '97 ABS B please let me know.

Re: Strut Brace

I have a Sparco one I could sell you. I bought it from Europerformance and it does not fit my car without interfering with the induction system. It cost me 74.09 including postage. Yours for £60 if you can pick it up from me. Incidentally I still haven 't found one that will fit my car and the one you have posted pictures of doesn't look right either. See in the top right photo that the bar is bent - even though it's for a non abs car? That seems to be for no good reason other than to fiddle and muck with my air intake.

On reflection bearing in mind your comments and looking at other pictures here the guy's brace may fit an ABS car. I have to go to his area on the weekend and will try and call in to have a look at the brace to see if it will fit. If it does not then might be interested in yours but you are too far away for me to collect, it would cost more in fuel than the £14 saving you offer so it will have to be at a better price. Sorry, that does sound a bit blunt but I am in Woking and you are in Nottingham. Have sent DTR a message to se what they have to offer and waiting on their reply. Cheers.

Fair enough mate. I wish I could afford to give it you £20 quid or something like that but im just not in that league! Not that long back someone gave away an entire Barchetta on this site!

Well, I bought the brace on Saturday and after some bashing with a club hammer managed to get it to fit. It's not excatly pretty but it is amazing what a difference it makes to the handling. I hate taking a hammer to things that go on cars and now wish I was not such a tightwad and paid an extra £40 for a Sparco. One day I will learn.
