Barchetta needed

My dad wants a B. The crazy man is talking about getting an MX5 because Barchetta's are so rare that he can't find one close by. Can anyone recommend places to search? I have looked at e-bay, autotrader and piston heads so far. He lives in Torquay and doesn't want to travel too far and would prefer to trade in his Honda Accord. He did like the silver one at DTR but £5,000 was too much without a trade in.

Re: Barchetta needed

Tell him to come to scotland for a holiday and take mine back down with him. I now need to sell it as the garage has now ruined the Grand Cherokee

Re: Barchetta needed

This one looks quite good, not a dealer and not too local but looks very clean and is a one owner car with DTR history.........

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...=&max_mileage=

I am in Torquay on Monday and possibly Tuesday (staying overnight in Torcross), keep your eye open for me!

Re: Barchetta needed

Nicholas there are plenty of good ones on here that are for grabs and knowing who owns them and the condition they are kept are probably just as important as service history etc. He might not want to travel but people are not going to go all that way to be turned down. They are rare so he will be very lucky to find what he want's without travelling. Best he sell the car private and then go hunting with cash.

Re: Barchetta needed

Definitely better to sell his current car first - the chance of getting a decent trade-in price on a car over 3 years old is highly unlikely.

Loads of Barchettas available at the moment and if he is prepared to travel he will definately find a good one with the spec he wants.

How much does he want to spend, assuming that he sells his car privately?

Re: Barchetta needed

I am going to tell him to look at a few of these. I think he should sell the Honda privately too. I am praying he holds out for a B. An MX5 is hardly an alternative.

Re: Barchetta needed

He should definitly travel for one of the b's on here. KC's or Lanciaman. Think how much better they have been looked after than what he might find locally. I bet you'd get a volunteer to drive it over for him as well if he went for it. Any of the problems either of these cars have got have been spoken about on here, nothing to hide. I think you could confidently agree a sale without an inspection on the strenth of the car belonging to forum member....

Re: Barchetta needed

I've sent my dad a link. I will be ashamed if he gets anything but a B.

Re: Barchetta needed

I was scared to talk to dad incase he had bought an MX5 but he rang to say that he'd found one really cheap so that he didn't have to sell the Honda first. I am waiting to hear from him now. If its still for sale I may be collecting it for him from somewhere near Epping. It is black, 50,000 miles, R reg, air con.
