Airbag light

Just fitted leather seats, now the airbag light stays on, all the connections under the seats are ok, any ideas?

Re: Airbag light

It costs £45 inc vat to have the light turned off by a fiat dealer.
I'm going to check with my local garage when I get round to it to see if they will do it cheaper and in the mean time i think between us we should come up with an invention to do this ourselves, patent it and make a fortune.

Re: Airbag light

Lots of people have done the same thing so don't feel too bad, in fact if you adjust the seats back or forward with the engine on it will trigger the light!

I know its a bit late but if you are going to do anything to do with and of the sensors connected to the airbag system remove the battery first!

Re: Airbag light

airbag light faults can be read and turned off with a piece off wire and a switch linked to srs multi plug located behind centre console do not disconect multi plug but connect a wire to rear of plug light blue/white wire via a switch to earth turn on ignition lights operate switch for 1-5 seconds srs light will flash a fault code to turn out airbag light operate switch for 5-10 seconds then turn off ignition disconect wire and switch turn ignition back on hopefully airbag light is out good luck

Re: Airbag light

Sounds good..where exactly is this multi pin plug and how do you get at it?.My centre console is solid 'bits' right back to the bulkhead. including a thumping big plastic box with a heat sink on the back which I assume is something to do with the aircon?

Re: Airbag light

I think without a proper "this is exactly how to do it with a diagram and photographs" it's not a good idea to start earthing wires, it could start all sort of problems. BMW service indicators can be reset with a bent wire between pins on the diagnostic socket, but there are 20odd of them and easy to make a mistake if not looking at the diagram on how to do it.

Anyway I thought the diagnostic socket on the Barchetta was behind the bulkhead and access was from the engine compartment?
