Need new front bumper....

Had a moment on the way home from work last night, the car I was following got hit head on and was pushed backwards in to the front of the b.
Luckily i wasn't following too close but i now need a new front bumper. Just glad the Golf was in front of me to take the impact, hate to think what the b would have looked like if we were the ones to be hit first.

Ouch!

I'm sure you'l get lots of advice. I know there is someone definitly to be avoided when it comes to buying bumpers. I think robot and others have had some trouble with a particular seller and should be able to help.

Never really noticed but it is looking a small in that photo - Beauty comes in small packages.

Will probably go through insurance and let them deal with the problem of finding a bumper but will insist on sending it to the bodyshop my company use.

Pooh, I am sooooo sorry but glad that you were not hurt - or in front of the Golf!

Best policy is to let the insurance sort the issue out, only problem is you will probably have to wait a while for a new front bumper as I believe they they are now an order only part from FIAT, which means it will need to come from Italy.

Don't let the insurance company book the car into the bodyshop until after the Goodwood breakfast club!

I was thinking that exact same thing this morning, its not badly damaged so will live with it for a while, don't want to miss the breakfast club meet.

in some way there IS something to be said for Docs approach of just fiddling with the B in the garage and never driving it ... it doesn't get damaged

If everyone involved is on the same level that it is an insurance jobbie... then the bumper AND paintjob should not be a worry.... only could take a while for it to arrive from Italy

Have just handed the whole thing over to the accident management company we use at work. I don't have to do a thing, it will get repaired at the bodyshop I want and the whole bill including hire car will go to them to recover it.

Word to the wise; don't ever buy an aftermarket fibre glass bumper. The garage that is painting my car (actually painted as they're done spraying it. Mounting the bonnet, boot lid, bumpers, lights etc. tomorrow ) said that they had spent 4 days filling and sanding the sh*te fibre glass bumpers that I got from Germany...

It's good to see that you are getting sorted, and even better to see that you were behind the main event.

Re the front bumper mine took 4 days from order to delivery so they can be quick if your dealer parts department pushes the right buttons.

Oh and Robot I very much doubt that yours stands so well after the ammount of beatings it gets
