That was bloody close..........

Just had a fantastic evening out at the Shepherds Bush Empire to see Buddy Guy live - if you don't know who Buddy Guy is then shame on you!

As I hate public transport and quite fancied driving the b through London I decided to drive up and park in a shopping centre car park, 5 mins walk from the Empire.

Imagine my horror when I arrived back at the car park and LOADS of the cars had their windows smashed in. In order to try and avoid getting door marks I parked mine as far away from the pedestrian exit as possible but did park under a street light. When I got back to my car luckily there was no damage at all (although the alarm had been set off while I was away), I have to admit I was expecting a slashed hood.

Why do people have to do this? I have a hard line view on this sort of behaviour, the people that carry out this sort of crime should not get off with 'community service' work, they should be forced to pay for the damager personally and stuck in prison with the nasty buggers who will use them as stress balls (amongst other things).

It so pishes me off that criminals like this can get away with causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to innocent peoples property with little more than a slap on the wrist yet the rest of us generally law abiding citizens get the book thrown at us for relatively minor offences.

I agree there are times when I leave my car that I wonder what I'm going to come back to. you shouldn't have to think this way, some people just don't respect other peoples property.

All crims get off to lightly I think. Damaging a B should carry I very high penalty.

Re: That was bloody close..........

The Law, in all her wisdom, forbids both the rich and the poor from sleeping under bridges and stealing bread.

The Law only applies to the hard-working, simple and frankly weak citizens. It does NOT apply to the Lawmakers, because they are above it; and it does not apply to the criminals because they have chozen to live outside it.

note: you gain an enormous amount of freedom once you realize that the law does not have to apply to you: you can do the f**k you want while those who have to curb that freedom have to abide the law while doing so.

The only thing law-abiding citizens can do is moan about it and pay taxes.
(or that the miscreants body is never found, and if found that it cant be traced back to you)

Re: That was bloody close..........

FWIW, community service can actually be quite difficult- if it means giving up every single weekend for the next 12 months to do unpaid work, no excuses or time off or it's chokey anyway- not too bad for some things. Needs a person with a certain amount of responsibility to feel the pain- total headbanger will not even try and attend- but will then go inside anyway.

Of course it's not quite the same as a cell with a big burly man

Should be the default punishment for any crime other than having a slightly smaller than usual number plate and speeding.............

Re: That was bloody close..........

Well, 136 flights since end of Jan averaging 5 hours per sector, all over Africa, middle & far east.
Quite a few F1 flights, Melbourne, KL, Bahrain and Montreal carrying Ferrari and Williams mainly. A beautiful 1950's Ferrari Superleggera on board a couple of months ago from Canada to Milan and a plane load of prototype Audis out to Muscat last week. Cigarettes and Viagara every week to Teheran, obviously one for before and one for after sex Apart from that mainly fruit........
