 | what banging now????? well for the last few days, we have had a loud bang which is getting worse every time we go over a bump, big and small ones.so we jacked up car and took wheel off and cant see what is causing it check exhaust not that tried suspension both sides not that. any guesses before we end up with bits of on road!!!! drives great if you miss bumps and there is loads of them here RATS

 | Re: what banging now????? Is it a back end bang or a front end one? I've also got a rear end one which gets worse in the wet, my thinking is possibly roll bar bush's as nothing else is amis. Even my tame mechanic hasn't found it yet.

As Ricky says it could be a swing arm bush, jack the car up and try to move the wheel in/out of the wheel arch, if it moves the chances are it will be a swing arm bush - another give-away is if it feels 'spongey' in the corners. Other possibilities are a worn shock absorber bush, anti-roll bar bush, loose/rusted spring cup (not likely), exhaust mount or heat shield (more of a rattle than a knock).......... There is a few things to keep hubby bust tomorrow!!
