Is my B falling apart?!?!

Ever get that feeling? I guess it is 7 years old.

Anyway, got the new hood and the MOT is done but one small thing I need to fix.

The button you press to open the door... the outer casing (small silver thing) is coming away from the bit it goes on. Should I assume the best thing is just to superglue it back on?

Rich

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

You could buy a new one from eBay or www.barchettashop.com and change it instead

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

There always seems to be something wrong. Mend or upgrade something and then something else gets added to the list.

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

Yup, but that is not an ailment reserved for the b, I think that applies to most cars over a 4 or 5 years old!

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

In Caterham circles, we refer to this as 'upgraditis'.

In its worst form, it consists of spending many thousands of pounds to achieve a 0-60 time of 3.4 secs, instead of the standard 4.2!

2/3rds spent on engine mods and 1/3rd on Carbon fibre body panels.

Upgraditis is very addictive once you catch it (just ask Doc)

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

So a few small things brake...its nothing m8 chill. The last two months I have broken a Rad, rear swingarm and now I stuffed the fuel rail fuel line so had to order a new one today.

The door handle can be changed over in 20 mins and you can pick them up from ebay.de or barchettaparts.com as the above people have said

This weekend I picked up 20 or so bolts from Fiat and a new charcoal filter bracket, I now have all new bolts in my rear swingarms and brakes.

Re: Is my B falling apart?!?!

Door handles are easy and only held on with two simple bolts, the lock is nothing to do with the door handle so you dont have to remove any of that stuff. You just pop off the plastic connecting rod and undo the two bolts and it will come away in your hand.
